Our Trip to the Big Buddha

The Big Buddha

The Big Buddha is the worlds largest outdoor statue of Buddha. It is a famous attraction to see while in Hong Kong.  It is located on Lantau Island.

On Tuesday, 20 July, 2021, Disorderly Dan, Marvelous Maria, and Positive Paul went to visit the Big Buddha.  They brought some water and some snacks with them.  Paul also brought an umbrella.

After they took some photographs, they enjoyed a meal at the Ngong Ping Garden Restaurant.  The meal was delicious!

The Big Buddha is very popular for visitors because they think that they can learn more about Chinese Culture.

The Trip to the Big Air Skatepark

enjoying the skatepark

Big Air Skatepark

Big Air Skatepark is one of the world’s coolest skateparks, and it’s located in Hong Kong.  It is a very famous place for skateboarders from all around the world.  It is located on Tonkin Road in Cheung Sha Wan.

On Wednesday, 6 July, 2016, Disorderly Dan, Marvelous Maria, and Positive Paul went to the skateboard shop to buy a new helmet for Dan.  It is very important to wear a helmet while skateboarding.

After they bought the helmet, they went to Big Air Skatepark to have fun skateboarding.  They brought some water and some snacks with them.  They also brought their new skateboards, helmets, elbow pads and knee pads.

When they arrived, they needed to pay the entrance fee of $50 per person.  After they did that, they enjoyed a fun morning skating around the skatepark.  Disorderly Dan, Marvelous Maria, and Positive Paul liked skating on Snake Run and into the Bowl Area.

Disorderly Dan had some problems with his skateboard.  He lost a wheel, and then he had his helmet stolen.  He was very angry because the helmet was expensive.  He sat down to think about what happened, and then he had an idea:  he could skate without his helmet.

Marvelous Maria and Positive Paul told Disorderly Dan not to skate without a helmet, but Dan didn’t listen.  Dan wanted to skate the Half-Pipe Tunnel, but Paul told him that it would be too dangerous.

Dan went into the tunnel, and he fell onto the ground and hurt himself badly.

Paul ran over to Dan and gave basic first aid while Maria called for help.  The staff of Big Air Skatepark tried to give Dan some water, but Dan didn’t want to drink.  A skater called one of the emergency medical services in Hong Kong, and soon an ambulance came.

The ambulance had to park on the bridge over the Half-Pipe Tunnel.  Dan was very scared because he couldn’t see very well and he had a terrible headache.

The ambulance took Dan to a local hospital and they provided good medical care.  Dan was allowed to go home the next day.

That day, everyone learned that we should always wear a helmet when we’re skateboarding.
